Qualifications: A masterís degree in public relations, communication or a related discipline, five years of recent professional communication experience in a science-related position, and experience in supervising and evaluating entry level communication employees, interns or co-op education students. This contract will include academic and professional supervision of five (5) senior science communication students throughout the entire internship period (May 6, 2013-August 16, 2013) and evaluation of their achievement. This includes monitoring program of the interns on placements, providing guidance in research projects, maintaining communication with sponsors and coordinator, assigning final grades based upon debriefing and reviewing of evaluation components. This contract will comprise 0.25 units of course-work. Preference will be given to applicants with experience using Moodle, graduate level course work in pedagogy of post-secondary teaching, and successful experience in university-level teaching.
Duties: Preparation, teaching, student consultation, grading and marking, distribution of student evaluation questionnaires, involvement in student appeals, and other duties appropriate to the appointment. All distance (DLCE) courses require completion of current technology orientation from DLCE.

Remuneration: Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Mount Saint Vincent University and CUPE 3912

The following is the current stipend schedule contained in the Collective Agreement, including 6% vacation pay. Stipends listed correspond to a full unit (1.0) course. Contract stipends will be prorated according to the course unit value.
