Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD in Education. Candidates must have conducted research related to mindfulness and/or contemplative education and/or have extensive teaching experience in the area. Candidates must also have demonstrated an ongoing and long-term commitment to a contemplative practice. Teaching experience in the Grade Primary to Grade 12 context and/or in the post secondary context is required. Specific expertise in contemplative education in elementary and secondary contexts would be an asset to the position and the teaching team.
Duties: Preparation, teaching, student consultation, grading and marking, distribution of student evaluation questionnaires, involvement in student appeals, and other duties appropriate to the appointment. All distance (DLCE) courses require completion of current technology orientation from DLCE.
Additional Duties: Team-taught course. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team is a requirement.
Remuneration: Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Mount Saint Vincent University and CUPE 3912
The following is the current stipend schedule contained in the Collective Agreement, including 4.9% vacation pay. Stipends listed correspond to a full unit (1.0) course. Contract stipends will be prorated according to the course unit value.
