Qualifications: Candidates must have a Master's level education in foods or nutrition with satisfactory practical experience in teaching nutrition at the university level. Active membership in Dietitians of Canada and provincial registration as a professional dietitian are preferred. Experience with supervision of dietetic interns and familiarity with the integrated internship education program approach and the MSVU program in particular. Experience with research methods, ethics review and all facets of dietetic practice.
Duties: Preparation, teaching, student consultation, grading and marking, distribution of student evaluation questionnaires, involvement in student appeals, and other duties appropriate to the appointment. All distance (DLCE) courses require completion of current technology orientation from DLCE.
Additional Duties: Supervise a minimum of 15 interns (NUTR 4501/2/3 and GAHN 5501/2/3) in a variety of placements (clinical, community, administrative) in a variety of locations (locally, regionally, and nationally). As specified in the MSVU Internship Education Policy and Procedure Manual this includes monitoring program of the interns on placements, providing guidance in research projects, maintaining communication with sponsors and coordinator, assigning final grades based upon debriefing and reviewing of evaluation components. Some travel may be necessary.
Remuneration: Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Mount Saint Vincent University and CUPE 3912

The following is the current stipend schedule contained in the Collective Agreement, including 6% vacation pay. Stipends listed correspond to a full unit (1.0) course. Contract stipends will be prorated according to the course unit value.
